IPL 2022 Retention Rules For All IPL Teams

• A team is allowed to keep up to 3 Indian(capped/uncapped) and 2 foreign players with the total number of retentions not exceeding 4.
• The team management can either retain three Indian players and one overseas player or two Indian players and two overseas players.
• Two Newly Added IPL teams can pick any 2 Indian and 1 foreign player from the Mega auction pool before the start of the auction in 2022.
• A team cannot keep more than two uncapped players.
• There will also be no Right to Match (RTM) cards for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction

IPL 2022 Format

IPL 2022 will follow the same format as IPL 2011. The ten teams will be split into two groups. Within each group, each team will play the other twice. The teams in Groups A and B will play each other once. Both groups will play one more match, which will be determined by the draw. As a result, each team will compete in 14 league matches. Two qualifiers, one eliminator, and the final will be held. In IPL 2022, there will be a total of 74 matches.
